Culture Programme

The EU’s Culture programme (2007-2013) has a budget of €400 million for projects and initiatives to celebrate Europe’s cultural diversity and enhance our shared cultural heritage through the development of cross-border co-operation between cultural operators and institutions.

2009 - European Young Journalist Award

"Enlarge your vision" is the motto of this year's EU Commission Young Journalist Award. Articles on on issues close to EU Enlargement can be submitted until 31. May 2009, Eligible candidates are young journalists aged between 17 and 35 who live in the EU, the candidate countries or potential candidate countries. Here is what the Commission writes on the award:

Your Award 2009 – Submissions now being accepted until 31 May 2009

From 2 February 2009 – 31 May 2009 young journalists aged 17 - 35, citizens or residents of the 27 member states of the EU or the candidate and potential candidate countries, are invited to participate in the 2009 European Young Journalist Award.

Energy Week 2009

About EUSEW
Under the umbrella of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign (SEE), the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy and Transport, the European Institutions and major stakeholders concerned with sustainable energy are together putting on the third edition of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW). It will take place in Brussels, Belgium, and in other cities across Europe from Monday 9 to Friday 13 February 2009, although many side events are foreseen during the weeks immediately before and after.
The EUSEW is the key annual reference point for sustainable energy issues in Europe. The events organised during EUSEW cover key topics that highlight the multi-sectoral nature of sustainable energy development and stress the need for everyone to work together towards a common goal.
